Center for Innovation Competence Septomics

The Center for Innovation Competence Septomics (CIC Septomics) is an interdisciplinary research institute at Friedrich Schiller University Jena and is scientifically associated with Jena University Hospital, the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology – Hans Knöll Institute – and the Faculty of Biology and Pharmacy. At the ZIK Septomics, basic researchers and clinics work closely together in three research groups, in order to overcome the stagnation in the diagnosis and therapy of sepsis. Their goal is a better molecular understanding of sepsis as a condition for new, life-saving diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
